Practical Course

The course is designed to provide an introduction to the fundamentals of machine learning and deep learning, as well as an understanding of when and how these methods are suitable for image analysis. Participants will gain an understanding of software options for image analysis using deep learning without coding experience and the ability to practically apply deep learning methods for the most common image processing tasks such as segmentation, classification and denoising. The course will cover basic concepts of Bioimage analysis so no prior knowledge is required.

Overview of course hands-on sessions:

  • ImageJ/FIJI for image processing and analysis
  • AI Denoising in NIS-Elements
  • Image segmentation with code-free machine learning and deep learning tools
  • Training and application of Neural Networks for segmentation in NIS-Elements
  • Additional AI tools in NIS-Elements
